About Jun

I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic Design at ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena, California.

I grew up in a quaint city—Hangzhou, a city that has a long story and has been selected as one of the happiest cities in China. Hangzhou is built around the famous lake—Xi Hu (West Lake) which has many mythical stories that I used to ponder on when I walked along it on rainy days. The lake, bridges, trees, weathers, and people have shaped me into the designer that I am. In a fast-paced world, I can slow down and create aesthetic forms with my idealism and romantic personality.

Another personality of mine is also shaped by Hangzhou—the modern, innovative and people-centered city. Hangzhou is also a city full of empathy and convenience in all aspects. A lot of international companies, such as Alibaba chose Hangzhou to be their headquarters’ location. I am proud that Hangzhou is the world’s first city with fully covered with public bicycles and e-payment system that I am really proud of. It always inspires me to design, with aesthetics and reasons, in addition, to consider the audience and humanity.

Growing up in Hangzhou, a beautiful and one the happiest city in China. I developed my interest in creativity world through watching TV at home like many other 90's kids. I encountered filmmaking knowledge back in college which has been helping me understand the importance of teamwork, unique approaching, form-making, craftsmanship and storytelling to this days. I decided to move out of my beautiful hometown to see this more exciting world to seek new adventures and experience in the creative field.

I am driven by curiosity, observation, thinking, and translating complex everyday ideas into slick, exciting stories. I am always looking for meaningful encounters and connections that lie in society, culture, history and beyond. And yet, I am not afraid to deconstruct or alienate my findings in my creative process.

When I am not designing, I usually go out watch movies, play games on my precious PS4, paint someone who has pretty face, go K-pop dance studio hang out with friends or cook some Chinese food at home which I can't find in LA.

I am pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design at ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena, California.
